The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Established in 1874, it is a member of the Group of Eight, which comprises Australia’s leading research universities.

The 14,000-strong student population includes more than 1,800 international students from 70 countries. There is a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs to choose from, combined with state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant student life.

The University of Adelaide has developed an international reputation for the quality education it provides to students. It has one of the best student-to-staff ratio of all Australian universities, ensuring students receive individual attention from lecturers and tutors. Facilities: The University of Adelaide has four campuses, which all enjoy modern resources and equipment. The University’s high technology and state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories contain the latest computing and international data network facilities. With more than two million volumes, the Barr Smith Library, located at the University’s North Terrace campus, is one of the biggest and most comprehensive libraries in the Southern Hemisphere.

Overseas students at The University of Adelaide are well catered for in all aspects of university life. The University provides regular pre-departure talks in several countries, on-arrival assistance and reception, and enrolment and orientation.

For accommodation, there are five residential colleges just ten minutes walk from the University’s main campus at North Terrace.

On campus, there is a host of student facilities and services, including a Health Service, Counselling Service and Finance Officer. An active Overseas Students’ Association provides social, cultural and peer support to all international students at the University.
