Description: The Tuckwell vision is to see highly talented and motivated school leavers fulfil their potential and reinvest their knowledge, skills and experience in ways that positively benefit others. The program has a focus on giving back to Australia and nurtures Scholars to fulfil their broader community ambitions over and above the pursuit of an undergraduate degree.

Annual Comment: The scholarship is valued at $20,000 per year for up to 5 years. In addition, recipients will also receive priority access to ANU-approved student accommodation; an annual allowance of up to $2,000 to assist with relocation expenses; a domestic economy airfare for students' parents to visit at the start of the program; and a sports centre membership for the length of the degree.

Eligibility: Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be completing year 12 in the year of application; be predicted to achieve an ATAR of 95 or higher; be intending to enrol at ANU as a full time undergraduate student in any single or double degree; and be intending to live in an ANU Hall or Residential College for the duration of the scholarship. Selection is based on: academic potential and achievements to date, a desire to give back to Australia, and demonstration of Tuckwell Scholar attributes (such as lateral thinker, hardworking, willing to take on a challenge, resilient, determination to succeed).

Other Details: Application is a three-step process. After an initial application, shortlisted applicants are chosen to complete a more detailed application. Final candidates are interviewed in Canberra in July.
