The University is situated only 15 minutes (9 miles) drive south of the centre of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, and 10 minutes (5 miles) from the port city of Fremantle. Undergraduate

Murdoch bachelor degrees help students establish the right foundations in their first year and have the essential knowledge to extend into further study. The university offers a wide range of majors within seven undergraduate disciplines.

Murdoch follows a unique undergraduate degree framework which is structured around four key elements - transition to university, research skills, breadth of knowledge, and depth of knowledge. Entry requirements are divided into two categories, pathway options for school leavers and pathway options for non-school leavers.

Postgraduate

Murdoch's postgraduate programs allow students to explore their field of interest and advance their careers. Graduates can choose from a wide variety of postgraduate courses with key study areas in arts, education, engineering and it, health, law, management and governance, psychology and exercise science, public policy and international affairs and veterinary and life sciences.

An example of postgraduate programs on offer at Murdoch are in the education faculty which offers a range of education-related graduate programs. Postgraduate students may undertake Master of Teaching (Primary), Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary).

Study Online

Murdoch offers external students with study online programs in graduate certificate, graduate diploma, bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctorate. Students can select different areas of study including arts and humanities, energy studies, cultural studies, mathematics, sociology, politics, science, community development, environmental sciences and environment mining.

Many materials are available online and students undertaking external study can even download the lectures, allowing them the freedom to listen to lectures without ever stepping foot on campus. Students get all the help they need through Murdoch's LMS (Learning Management System) where they can gain access to study schedules, student forums, ask questions and talk to tutors, listen to or watch recordings of unit lectures using a tool called Lectopia and use the Murdoch Library's electronic database.

International Students

Murdoch University provides support services to assist overseas students, and promote overseas student needs throughout the University. Pre-departure guidance is the first step that the university has undertaken to safeguard international students. This includes information on organizing student visa, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airport arrival and organizing accommodation in Perth with Murdoch University Village.

Murdoch acknowledges that arriving in a new city can be quite daunting for a new student. To assist students, the Murdoch International Student Support Team has created a short guide on the different transportation options available from the Perth International and Domestic Airport Terminals. Once students arrive, they'll take part in a week-long comprehensive university orientation that will prepare them for study and life at Murdoch University. More importantly, Murdoch offers financial aid and scholarships for international students.

International students are generally required to pay the full fee for undergraduate study while both local and undergraduate students can be required to pay the full fee for postgraduate study. Scholarships

Murdoch is committed to provide students with different scholarships to help student while they study their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
