UniSA is committed to educating professionals; creating and applying knowledge; serving the community; maintaining cultural diversity amongst its staff and students; and providing equitable access to education for greater numbers of people. In this way, UniSA continues to build on the long-standing traditions of its antecedent institutions.

UniSA was founded on 1 January 1991 through the amalgamation of the South Australian Institute of Technology and the Magill, Salisbury and Underdale campuses of the South Australian College of Advanced Education. Since then, it has quickly earned a reputation as a national leader in collaborative research, has been recognised nationally for innovation in teaching and has South Australia's largest intake of international students.

Undergraduate

UniSA offers a wide range of undergraduate programs that will provide students with the knowledge and experience to take up an active role in a global workplace. Students can choose from more than 400 degrees in a wide range of disciplines which includes business, health sciences, education, arts and social sciences and IT, engineering and environment.

The university supports undergraduate students through a range of resources to help them find a future career and explore the pathways on offer. UniSA also promotes international experience by encouraging students to participate in student exchange, short term programs, overseas internships, and international research and study tours.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate courses at UniSA can be undertaken through coursework and research. Successful completion of a postgraduate program can help students in career advancement and even career shift. Numerous study areas are available for graduate students to choose from, this includes education, arts and social sciences, business, health sciences and IT, engineering and environment.

For students who want to pursue research, UniSA offers an extensive range of research degree programs by discipline and research areas. To cater to different lifestyles, the university also created several study options for postgraduate students such as on campus, part-time and full-time and distance education studies.

Study Online

UniSA study online program has undergraduate and honours degrees, undergraduate higher certificates and diplomas and postgraduate certificates and diplomas. Students can choose from many different study areas including accounting sciences, agriculture and environmental, economic and management sciences, education, human sciences, law and science engineering and technology.

External students gain access to the course content by logging in to their personal portal called myUniSA, where they can download study materials, pay fees, interact with lecturers, e-tutors, electronic library database and student support services. UniSA is also connected with the Open Universities Australia which means that students can choose to engage in one or a combination of study modes.

International Students

UniSAwelcomes and supports overseas students from all over the world with a range of services and resources. Before students travel to Australia, UniSA helps students in their preparation. They are provided with some useful information on visa and passport requirements, travel insurance, things to bring, things not to bring, accommodation, personal insurance, managing finances and part-time work.

The university offers free airport pick-up for new students. The university also schedules a welcome week and orientation so that students can meet other new international students and get help with enrolment, accommodation and adjusting to life in Australia. A range of language and learning resource are also accessible. For questions and other concerns international student officers are always available to help. Aside from these supportive services, UniSA grants scholarships for international students who are found eligible.

International students are generally required to pay the full fee for undergraduate study while both local and undergraduate students can be required to pay the full fee for postgraduate study. Scholarships

UniSA has a range of scholarship categories - including financial support for high achievers and students in need. The university has scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Many UniSA scholarships also provide specific assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Australian government scholarships, known as Australia awards is available at the university. These scholarships are intended for capacity building in developing countries or for high achieving students, researchers and professionals. University Life

University life at UniSA is jam-packed with social, cultural, sporting, and recreation activities and programs. With over 80 clubs and societies, UniSA has a huge range of clubs and associations, whether it's academic, sporting, cultural or a new hobby students want to try. Students are also highly encouraged to get involved in social and competitive sports where they can meet new people.

Aside from all these, part of student life at UniSA are extra-curricular activities, leadership and volunteer programs, student travel and outings and social events and activities. UniSA offers global opportunities to students. They can take advantage of the university's international connections if they wish to study abroad. UniSA also has a range of personal, academic and social support services. The university also helps with student accommodation.

Student Reviews

The UniSA student reviews contain a range of positive comments about the university's campus size and its modern facilities. Comments from the student reviews say that the campus is neither too big nor too small and that it is spacious enough to accommodate many students. The facilities specifically mentioned are the library and computer workstations.
