Scholarship Name: Harold Carroll Memorial Scholarship

Description: The Late Harold White Carroll, a retired grazier from Devonport, on his death in 2000 established a fund to provide scholarships for deserving students in the State of Victoria, to allow them to enter or continue university studies. On behalf of the Trustees of the Estate of the Late Harold Carroll these scholarships have been made available to eligible students for study at Monash University.

Annual Comment: The scholarship is valued at $3,000 per year for the duration of the degree, for a maximum of 4 years. Students who complete their degree within 3 years may be eligible to hold the scholarship for an additional year to undertake an honours program.

Eligibility: Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or holders of permanent humanitarian visas; be commencing or continuing higher education students in an Australian Monash campus; and demonstrate financial hardship. Selection based on attendance at the following schools and are in order of preference: Coleraine Primary School; St Joseph's School Coleraine; Port Fairy Consolidated School; St Patrick's Primary School Port Fairy; Balmoral High School; Balmoral Consolidated School; or former pupils of primary or secondary schools in the Western District of Victoria (approximately west and south west of the Calder Highway and on that highway). Tenure is dependent on maintaining full-time enrolment and credit average each semester.
